About the Green Knights Military Motorcycle Club (GKMMC)

The Green Knights Military Motorcycle Club(TM) (MMC(TM)) is a 501(c)(3) organization that was formed back in late 1999 and formally recognized in early 2000 at McGuire AFB, New Jersey. It was the idea of Adam Buehler to organize base motorcyclists for activities and to bring awareness to DoD riders and to individuals who do not ride. With the aid of the base MSF instructor, Jeff Richards, they were about to embark on a journey that they could have never imagined.

The two set out to organize and create a club where riders can get together, discuss issues of the base, fight for biker rights, help each other, participate in charity events, and enjoy going on rides. Most of all, enjoy the ride and the shared common interest. After gathering up a handful of riders from the base, they were able to form the first chapter of the Green Knights at McGuire AFB, NJ. It was a start of a slowly growing trend that has erupted into not just the Air Force but across the board of the military. Our by-laws, policies, and mentorship outlines have become the basis of the AF current policy to have a motorcycle club on every base. Currently there are 97 chapters world wide in the U.S. AF, Army, Navy and even some international allies such as the Royal Air Force, Irish Defense Force, and the Canadian Forces of Canada.

The club was designed and maintained for all Military and DoD riders. We do not recruit. We accept and our members range from active duty, reserve, guard, retirees, dependants, DoD civilians, and their families. Members are just required to ride safe and have fun.

The Green Knights work hand and hand with the Wing Safety Office and Security Forces to help riders retain their rights and still follow the regulations set forth by the Federal, State, and local bases regulations. First and foremost the Green Knights stand for SAFETY. Our Safety Director keeps the club updated on Department Of Defense, Department Of Transportation, and local changes to traffic regulations. The Executive Board also disseminates these changes to non-club members. We fight for motorcyclists rights on base and had our first annual Motorcycle Awareness Ride this past spring, to let people know we're out there (lots of us).

The Green Knights do not discriminate against any type of motorcycle or scooter. We are always looking for new members. If you are a military, retired, DoD, or Military Contractor motorcycle rider, and would like to learn more about joining the Green Knights, contact the club

              GKMMC - CHAPTER 105

The Green Knights - Defender'z Ch. 105 use to be their own entity with Naval Air Station Joint Reserve Base New Orleans, LA. Our colors use to be Black and Grey and were called the "DEFENDER'Z MILITARY MOTORCYCLE CLUB." Until recently we patched over to the Green Knights on 23, June 2012. The Defender'z was stood up by six people with permission from the base Commanding Officer, Executive Officer, and the Command Master Chief. As apart of the DEFENDER'Z we did not claim any territory, nor did we ever. As Green Knights, we are just the same as if we were DEFENDER'Z. We are Military members in a Chapter who share the same interest. And that interest is our motorcycles. In addition to volunteering our time to help one another as well as the community that we are stationed in. But as stated before. We DO NOT CLAIM TERRITORY.
